Candle Burning 101

THE BURN

Approximately 1oz of wax is burned every 4 hours and can vary based on each burn cycle and container. For the first candle light, we recommend burning for 3–4 hours, and at least 2 hours each time after to help maintain an even wax pool.

THE MELT

We fill our vessels to the top—no half measures here! Our wax burns at a lower temperature, so you may notice a slight rim of wax, especially in larger or uniquely shaped vessels. This is completely normal and can actually help your candle last longer. As the flame lowers, the heat will eventually melt the wax along the rim.

Safety First

Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from anything that can catch fire and out of the reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended - let’s keep the vibe calm and the space safe. Always burn your candle in a draft-free area. And remember: these vessels were not originally designed to be candles, please show them a little extra love and caution when burning.

THE WICK

Not all wooden wicks are created equally, some burn brighter than others, so trim your wooden wick before each burn to keep the flame just right — about 1/4” tall avoids excess smoke and flickering… Unless you’re into that sort of thing.

THE END

Stop burning your candle when about 1/4" of wax remains. This helps prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface and helps protect your beautiful vintage vessel from potential hazard.

You’ve got this — burn smart, stay cozy!
